It is a bit embarrassing, isn't it. We have to build a wall when a few decades ago we could have been working on better relationships and our neighbors would be helping to protect our borders and we could have secured economic prosperity for them.

It is a shame that we need to build it at all. It would be so much easier if the Mexican Government would give the Mexican people a better place to live. The United States cannot afford to raise the millions that come over here through the border illegally. We have to do something and this was an option that most likely will not work unless we stop the available work for illegals in this country.

Terrorists are more likely to come from the Canadian border. The southern wall will stop a lot of mexicans from coming, but you people speak as if your better than they are because your ancestors came here first. Mexicans work hard, they are well intentioned people. too bad the economy down there sucks. as long as its like that, they will keep coming, im sure all of you would do the same if you wanted to survive. Canadians on the other hand are , what the hell have they ever done for us, they just ride america's coattails.

I agree with meathead. The Mexican government is primarily responsible to their own citizens. If the Mexican people weren't kept poor and oppressed, they would have no reason to come up here.

Our government is oppressive too, just not to the same degree....however they are heading in that direction, especially these past six years.

Corporations will take advantage of cheap labor as much as they can, which keeps wages below the cost of living for millions of people.

I think we should take down the Statue of Liberty if we are going to build a wall around our borders.

We need to take it further. We have almost 3 million active duty military, can't we make the border a tour of duty?

The mexicans are using Political Correctness to weaken America's culture.

Illegal Mexicans aren't "pesky"...They are criminal illegal invading aliens! America needs to enforce existing laws and round-up and deport the entire lot!

It'll HELP, but they need to do more to finish the job.

Why won't everyone stop running for America, huh?
Why can't people just be happy where they're at and realize that they must've been born there for a reason instead of trying any way they can to take something that belongs to another person just cuz they think it's not fair that the other person has "more"?

It may decrease the number of welfare recipients buried face first in the public welfare trough, sucking up all the resources though.
