I was told by a hypnotherapist to count back-wards , whenever i want to fall asleep i start counting from about 30 backwards as fast as i can, got quite good at it and usually works. I also try to clear my mind of all thoughts and then i think of a waterfall cascading down huge boulders, rocks and i visualise just beauty. I have no problem falling asleep, day or night. Good luck and Have a Happy New Year.:))

Avoid eating at night. Have a good breakfast of preferably fresh home made food and go to bed.
A round magnet under your neck with S pole touching your neck will help you more.
If you trust God recite His prayers or preferably name only will make you asleep within a few minutes. Don't think anything when you go in bed.

I worked 3rd shift for 16 yrs. and swing shift from another job.
Here is good tips.
3rd shift workers.
Eat something light before bed. Like oatmeal. (works great)
Bedroom MUST BE COMPLETELY DARK.
Go to bed same time each morning/wake w/alarm. Tell everyone "No one is to call" Turn off the phone, if no family/friends listen! Remember we have 911, for emergency if you are needed.
Find something that make white noise. Fan. Find something to create a click sound. Possibly soft music.
I use a air purifier. Mine make good loud noise.

I have found that the very best way to sleep in the day is to get some melatonin tablets they sell them on ebay.
Melatonin is a natural sleep hormone which is produced when it gets dark. They are not addictive.

Invest in a water bed. You can be assured you will have no problem in sleeping. Try getting one on a trial period, for say a month. Test it out. I am sure you will never want to send it back. They are temperature controlled. So warm in winter and cool in summer. It works for me.

try getting room darkening window treatments if too much light is the problem
if noisy neighbors is the problem try some white noise. by putting your radio between stations or playing soft music or get what my old roommate called a noise maker, it plays these sounds that are calming one is a summer night it sounds like crickets and frogs, another is the ocean, and one is running water. there are like 8 of them. you can get it at Wallgreens, Target, Wallmart

Nytol works not the herbal one. Try some nature sounds music, take a warm shower, do some deep breathing & u'll drop off. (not necessarily in that order!)

Buy from boots/holland and barrat or any other chemist a herbal sleeping tablet like 'Kalms' or any other herbal one as you will not get addicted to them like those prescribed by a GP...
