Not only do I realize it, it's the reason I vote.

Not sure how to gauge "how hard" I analyze the options. I try to be informed about all the contested elections so I at least have a decent idea of the issues, and the candidates. Some decisions are easier than others.

I realize how important elections are and am careful to vote for people and policies that are sustainable in the long term. That's why I never, ever vote democrat and only rarely will vote for a republican. Neither party have any interest in the interests of the country's well being but at least a few republicans are slightly coherent.

Voters should look at the political party and be able to judge their platform concerning governmental control. Then voters should choose a candidate based on their vision for the nation. The National-Union's vision is a Constructive America to repair the economy and build up the military, http://www.voteprimous.com

I look at all the candidates. I see who is mud slinging and rule them out; chances are if they are slinging they don't have much good to say about themselves. I don't like very extreme views in either direction. This past election I went on line and looked up all the political parties, ruling them out by views and goals till I came across the one that I feel represents what I desire most for this country.

I stay informed with all venues of media. I'm not a freak about it, but I look up issues that interest me. I don't investigate my local candidates enough, however.
