Yes, his name is Sacha Baron Cohen. He went to Cambridge University and grew up in Wales. I still prefer Ali G to Borat.

I think that the movie Borat was spun off from a character that Sacha Baron Cohen created on The Ali G Show.

Haha Hey, No they are not, But they are on the same show!
I work for a large public think-tank, and we just want to find out what people generally think of Borat.
If you could just go to this site http://linkachi.com/?m4
and just click if you think Borat is "Stupid" or "Funny" that would really be appreciated.
I'll definitely send you a copy of our final analysis, we've been making some generalizations about WHO LIKES Borat and WHO DOESN'T...and trust me you'd be surprised.
Thank you so much,
Bob Salisnky

yes. all one person. if you go to www.youtube.com and search for Letterman clips, you will see two different episodes..one with Ali G (forgot his real name) and one of Borat in character and oh yeah, one with the actor himself.

Unfortunately they are both played by Sacha Baron Cohen. I read some time ago he refuses to do interviews out of character.
