He must have hurt his face on his cage or another animal in the cage. I really do not think that he has rabies. If his face is wounded he might have bit you because of that. Leave him alone until you can call a vet and ask what to do. A caged wounded animal is nothing to mess around with. You could possibly have gotten another type of infection. Keep your bite clean and ask the vet if you should see a doctor. Watch for swelling and redness around the wound.

Your hamster bit you because of the wound on his face. He's an injured animal that is trying to protect himself from further harm. You just need to call a vet and get him some medical attention. Depending on how he got the wound will determine if he may have rabies. I highly doubt it though because he probably would have been eatin by the other animal that had rabies.

You're going to be fine. Chances are your hamster hasn't come in contact with a rabies carrier. Plus, the store when your friend got them from wouldn't have sold infected animals in the first place. I used to work at PETCO, and we would always check the animals every hour, looking for sick or injured animals. Bottom line, you'll be fine. It's good that you put anticeptic on it. Keep an eye on the wound for the next couple days, checking for signs of infection anyway. If it appears infected, contact a doctor. But I'm sure you'll be fine. :]

How did he get the wound? Have you treated it at all? Be careful not to let it get infected.
He won't have rabies (atleast its EXTREMELY unlikely) because they are domesticated. All depends on who scratched or bit him. Another hamster from the store and you're fine.
Do look into his wound though. How is he eating? With most small animals their first sign of pain is that they stop eating. Take him to the vet if the wound hasn't been treated or if he starts eating less.
