Hi Ashley,
Well, hon I hate to tell you this but if you were trying to get pregnant you could not have picked a better day to have sex. I might have advised you to make love on the 20th as that is the day before you should have ovulated but the 21st is right on the money.
Still, you should remember that the odds of becoming pregnant from any single act of intercourse are between 0 and 20%. You did use protection the first time and "kind of" used protection the second time. If you were trying to get pregnant I would tell you that you did a really poor job of it. But since you obviously do not want to be pregnant I have to tell you that the odds of you being pregnant are pretty slim. Even tho this was the day that you were ovulating I am pretty sure that if any sperm managed to get to the egg it was probably too late. The egg is only viable for 12 to 24 hours and the reason that the male ejaculates 300 to 500 MILLION sperm is to ensure that about 200 sperm will actually reach the egg. Since you used a condom the first time and your partner did not ejaculate inside of you (contrary to popular opinion the pre-ejaculate does not contain many viable sperm, if any), it is very unlikely that any sperm reached your egg. I am not saying that it is impossible, stranger things have happened, I am just saying that the odds are so tiny that I would not waste any time worrying about it. Relax. You should always take a pregnancy test before you begin that sort of birth control, it is just good medical care. I would wait until after you have your period to use the patch and not have intercourse in the meantime, that will only complicate things further.
You should start your period around the 6th of January if you are regular and if you have not started by the 11th I would do a test. The test is just to be on the safe side, I still do not think you are pregnant. You can get a good pregnancy test at Planned Parenthood for a minimal charge and many clinics are free. If you do buy one the E.P.T. is very highly recommended.
Take care honey and I hope all goes well for you. Please be careful in the future so that you do not have to have this kind of stress in your life.
Blessings
Lady T~

You should take a test but it could be too early to take one. With the patch, you shouldn't use it till right after the last day of your period or something like that. Did your doc give you directions?

i'm confused... your last period was dec. 7th... cycle is what... 26/28 days? so the next period should be..hmmm next year? so why are you worried? IF you were pregnant, you should have some symptoms like tightness in the breasts, if you feel regular, just keep waiting until you are definately over your cycle time for a week roughly before panicing.

yes you could very well get/be pregnant. pull out is never good enough for not always can boys control themselves and there is pre before they *** also. get pregnancy test from planned parenthood $10. therefore its certain and u wont waste $$ on home test that only needs verifing with doctor visit anyway.
