amarica- Ameerica - USA - 50 stats mate in the past or officially
Well this is a good question apart from that you have to correct your spilling
USA has 50 states in the 1990’s
But in the 2000’s the number of states have been increased the news states are: Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and UAE to be 56 states.
My expectations in 2007 the USA states will dramatically increase from 56 to be 60 states. This due to the including of: Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria.
And of course Israel on the top of all these states.
So, well done GWB for your new 60 states enjoy them but do not regret your policy makers team at the White House.

50 official states, and these are represented on the flag by the 50 stars. The 13 stripes on the flag represent the first 13 states that joined the union. We Brits know something about the rest of the world around us ;)
I am not including the annexed States of UK and Iraq of course

The U.S. has 50 states. This has not changed since Hawaii became a state in 1959.
In addition, there are U.S. territories, such as American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands.

Since the ratification of the Constitution, the number of states has expanded from 13 to 50.Today, there are very few U.S. territories left that might potentially become new states. In light of recent events, the most likely candidate may be Puerto Rico

The United States of America has 50 states. Please tell me that the misspelling of Puerto Rico wasn't intentional but a joke. And, I agree PR doesn't want to become a state. Makes out better the way they are-the benefits without the responsibilities of taxes, etc. Not criticizing, only commenting. Many there do want their independence, and why not.
