First of all, if you had to lie to them to gain their friendship, are they really your friends? A true friend doesn't like you because of material things or superficial attributes. Real friendship is something that transcends worldly possessions or how beautiful you are.
Secondly - you've been lying to yourself by believing that these people were your friends to begin with. If you felt you had to lie to get their kudos, you should re-evaluate who you really are.
You don't need friends that cause you to be untrue to yourself & as far as I'm concerned, you owe them not one single ounce of honesty, much less an explaination for your actions.
You do however, owe an apology to you for deceiving yourself for so long. The world is full of people that need friends & if you want, you have one here.

I know this goes with out saying but' You shouldn't have lied to fit in. You want friends that except you for the person you are. Never lie to get friends. If you do you could get the wrong kind of friend. Tell them the truth. If you lose them go find others and never lie to them that way you will know who excepts you for the person inside and who doesn't.

There is no big deal about having no friends. Friends always come and go.
If having friends is so important to you, maybe you should try not having any. That way you will appreciate any new friends you make.
If your friends were true friends you would not have needed to lie to them in the first place in order for them to like you.
Course if you have had these friends for a long time, you may be surprised to find that already know you were lying to them. and are just waiting for you to admit it.

Tell the truth from now on. If you lose friends, you will maybe gain new ones. Just don't start up with your old ways. The ones who maybe in your past today, may come around tomorrow if they really see that you have changed your ways. Actions speak louder than words.
Hope this helps! Good luck to you and please make a conscientious effort to never lie again!

a friend from my class has the same problem with tellin' lies. he can't stop and we already know about it. the problem is that you already did something wrong and tha is to tell a lie but i don't say that you mustn't tell a lie but now you wanna tell the truth and if you say it the will hate you because you lied in order for them to like you. if u lied just so you can be liked the this is not really your problem. maybe you don't belong in that group and that's why you lied so much just to be appreciated

Sounds like you could use some counseling. Once you feel bette about yourself, you may be more able to be You. Without the lies!
Friends you have because of lies, may not be your friends at all. Make some new ones.!

It's a good thing that you're learning from your prior mistakes. If you lose your friends from the lies, oh well, at least you get that burden off your back. Try being yourself in the future. Having friends that appreciate you for you is better.

But they weren't YOUR friends anyway. They were friends of that other girl that you have invented and that doesn't really exist. Now it is time to smile and say Good Bye to them and to that imaginable girl, and start living your own life with real you. You will grow to love your real life way more than that imaginative one and find new true friends who will accept you and love you for who you are. You are out of your grave now and you are free! :)

True friends love you even when they know the worst things about you. Confide in one of them. If they don't want to be your friend afterward, find some new ones and learn your lesson about truth. You know, you don't have to spill your guts to everybody you know. Everyone keeps something hidden for their own reasons. Pick and choose what you care to reveal about yourself. You can bet that you don't know everything about your friends. Godloveya.
