Hi,
Well of course your answers so far are about correct.
Personally, I don't have a problem either way with the terminal situation of Hussain.
It looks like it will create more problems than it solves, though.
Living in a rural part of Bedfordshire, I perceive no threat from terrorists, and I;m sure that applies to most of the population of the UK. I am more scared by Percy's local pigs when it comes to castration time.
Having survived a minor 'plane crash, a head-on motorbike collision, fallen off a cliff, nibbled by a shark, I suppose I feel a bit immune to it all.
The end of Saddams' horrible dictatorship does not affect me, but I feel for those involved in sorting out these global problems.
Let us all have a pleasant new year
Cheers,
Bob

The world will never be a safe place. While religion segregates the community and the muslim faith sees non believers in their faith as infidels, then how are we all to get along. Blaming Bush and Blair is not the answer, you have to blame mankind in it's entirity. It's programmed in to us to think we are more important than anyone else. The strike against America, 9/11 was not against Bush, it was against democracy and freedom and our way of life.... Bush just happened to be leader at the time. Look around the world at any time and you will see wars for reasons most westerners don't understand.
Religion causes blind faith and people are prepaired to lay down their lives for it... how can you possibly win against somethink like that. If someone is prepaired to blow someone up and die in the process there is very little in reality we can do to stop it without taking everyones freedom away.

So NO... the world is not safer at all. Saddam kept an iron fist control on his country in the only way he knew how. Remove the problem permanately. He was a victim of his countrys circumstance. Mass murderer yes, but how many innocent Irakis died in our attacks on their country to remove the taliban etc? Now that iron fist has been removed the shi'ites and other forces will do battle until one or other are totally wiped out.

That is one war... there are many out there which we don't hear about. Unfortunately, warring is a human condition and none of us are totally safe...

The fact we are still there trying to control the country will only have a negative impact. For the few extremists in our midsts it will only strengthen the call for Jihad against Irak's occupiers. We need to withdraw our forces ASAP so the terrorist threat will lessen to us. It will never totally go away due to our lifestyle and religion.

Big hugs to all and a Happy New Year ;o)

NO I do not feel safer...all the time he was in custody terrorist attacks continued to occur and attacks continued to be planned. I will feel safer when all world leaders decide to work out their differences with out any type of violence and/or stop being so power hungry and greedy for wealth. I will feel safe when the world leaders truly care about making a good place for everyone. Unless that happens... there were always be more terrorist popping up... killing one is not going to make the word better.

I have never been very concerned about being directly involved in a terrorist attack.

The overthrow of Saddam's government, and the installation of a civil war in Iraq have made US citizens much less safe around the world.

Until the invasion of Iraq, Al Qaeda had a limited supply of persons that would accept their extreme views.

Since the invasion and subsequent occupation the US government has said that the US presence is a negative factor.

Saddam was not a popular man outside of his small circle of followers. Few world leaders are sorry to see him go. This is probably the only saving grace in this situation, preventing a real mainstream call for Jihad by the Arab leaders.

I do not believe we will see more violence as a result of his death. The US could probably do little to make itself look worse to the Arab world.

As long as the US is in Iraq, the conditions will continue to deteriorate

The only way to reduce tensions and open the Iraqi path to their own destiny is to immediately end the occupation of IRAQ.

BRING ALL OF OUR TROOPS HOME NOW!!!

As far as I am aware, Saddam only posed a threat to the Iraqis and Kurds. Tweedle-Dum and Tweedle-Dee tried to convince the world that Saddam had, overnight, acquired wmds, failed, but went to war anyway. As no leader in the Arab world (including Iran) has ever posed a threat to any nation beyond their own backyards I would suggest for a 'world' threat one should look across the pond or to any Western leader who hears messages from God.

I examine the comments. Dick Cheney has made a lengthy and storied historic previous of proposing his reviews besides depending even as truthfully he misrepresents the truth or flat out lies. I strongly experience like Dick Cheney is the most important danger america has ever had. If Bush might want to have had the different vice chairman, he might want to have had a extra effective legacy. His reviews are wonderful, yet once lower back, i imagine you've cherry picked particular statements from different cherry picked statements. Dick Cheney isn't a honest and merely guy. His record speaks for itself.

Nope. I'd feel safer after a year when Bush is off the throne. Until then I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed.

Bush and his puppy Blair need to go as well because these guys are terrorists also. The world will never be safe as long as America exists.
