I never met her family as she wasn't close to them. I've checked on-line the local paper (Swansea) for the obituaries, but had no joy. I just want to say good-bye properly. Anyone got any suggestions?

Are you sure she was burried and not cremated ?
If it was in Swansea contact Swansea Council. If you know it have the date of death and date of the funeral. If she died in hospital, they might know the name of the undertakers.

There is the possibility that there is no grave. More families are choosing cremation for financial reasons. You can try local gov. but they rarely keep burial records just deaths. If you have any family member's name you can try to tactfully ask them. In the end if you do not find your friend, rest assured that she knows of your concern and will come to you where ever you choose to say good bye. You might want to consider adopting a grave to stand in place of hers. Find a grave that doesn't look like it is visited often or one that looks like what you think she would have wanted. You can place flowers there and meet your friend there. (just don't forget to say hi to and say a little prayer for the person actually there) Peace :)

if you know her full name and the date of the death approximately . Locate the local cemeteries and the office will be able to give you the plot number of the grave or site of the cremated ashes whichever . they are always most helpful

Try your local Registrar's Office and ask to see the Death Certificate. Then you can follow it up from there. Also ask the advice of your local parish priest. Hope this helps.

Where ever her soul is she knows what you wish, so feeling in your heart is showing your love an concern and nothing is greater than this. I suggest youu go to a temple, church or any worshipping place, pray and give your respects, because where ever she maybe buried, her body lies there, but her soul rests with the Almighty now.

You can say good-bye in any place. She will listen your words, that you loved her, and sure she love you.
