An ipod is a brand of music player, made by Apple.

An "mp3" is a computer file, usually ending with ".mp3" that is an encoding of audio data.

In other (simplified) words, an mp3 is a song and an ipod is a song playing device. You need both - a song player is not worth much without songs to play and song files are no good if you don't have something to play them on.

There are a lot of other music players out there, though the ipod is best known and most popular. Likewise, there are various sound file formats out there, but mp3 is the most popular for music.

Mp3 is like an ipod but it lacks the functions of an ipod, for example, an mp3 can have as much songs as long as the memory is enough, and you can't put the songs in folders, which means that if you want song number 250, you have to scrool all the way to that song.
As for an ipod, you can seperate the songs into folders, so u save time.
That's the difference...
Which one should you get?
The Ipod...No doubt...

there is no difference. IPOD is the brand they're all MP3 players. You want to choose the brand. If you just want to listen to alot of music, u need to see how much music it can hold then go from there. They all do the same thing, which is play music.
