I've been psychic since I was a little girl...it always scared me because I only know when bad things are going to happen...the last several years I have stopped telling people and ignore the premonitions...I don't think I could teach anyone to be psychic...I get this overwhelming feeling of dread...also I have slammed doors and windows ect. with my mind when I was angry.

Well, I'm not really psychic, in the sense of having some supernatural power. But I am often thought to be psychic because when I read Tarot cards, I get some uncanny results. I think it is from having spent some 30 years reading the cards, and having become very, very familiar with the symbols and traditions involved.
But I think psychic power is often attributed to people who are very observant, especially when they do the observation at a somewhat subliminal level, and can take in details others usually miss. Much of this goes on below the level of consciousness, and the person really does not know how they know. I think this is much of how I get "uncanny" results with the Tarot.
The traditional image of a prophetess sitting over the fumes at the Oracle of Delphi brings up another aspect of psychic power: mind-altering drugs and other substances can give a person that subliminal perception that can create accurate predictions. But then the Oracle was never believed, was she?
Or contemplate how often a prophecy is self-fulfilling. You tell someone they are going to be a success at something they care a great deal about, and it gives them confidence and courage and determination, so they do succeed. The Oracle at Delphi was famous for warnings of peril that came true; how often because the peril was now expected and feared, and on the person's mind?
This is not to say that there is no such thing as a real gift of prophecy. But I think it is much more rare than those who can predict using more natural means.

I believe we are all psychic, but for the majority the gift or the belief has been long knocked out of them. Educated out is another way of looking at it. Many professional psychics have grown up in a psychic friendly environment. Perhaps a grand-parent or parent with the knowledge has helped bring the extra sense out in the open and encouraged its use. But there are as many practicing psychics who have not had the benefit of caring psychic guidance and who have still managed to develop and hone this natural extra sense.

I believe that we all have some psychic abilities to an extent, but generally speaking, most people, especially adults do not know how to use these abilities any longer as they are too consumed by worldly issues. Paying bills, work, school, their families, whatever. You have to have an open mind, look, listen and learn to tap into your own psychic abilities.

Had a number of premonitions, very unexpected events. OBEs now and then. But would not classify myself as psychic tho.
I dont think it can be taught, it depends on how advanced you are.

It is a feeling you get sometimes. Most times you ignore it. Start thinking about all your thoughts at the end of the day and you might realize that you had "flashes of insight" once you figure out what I am talking about keep notice of them, and listen to them. They will start comming more often. It is very slow though.

I think we all are to an extent. It isn't something you can be taught, it is already within you. I don't believe most of the ones you see on tv. I am a sceptic when it comes to them. I would have to meet them in person and see what they actually do.
