I've found money and given it back. I also lost a wallet once and it was never returned. They could have at least kept the cash and sent me back my papers and such. If I ever find another wallet I will give it back. I've got my own money, I don't need to steal from others.

When i was younger i did hand some money in and did get a reward. I have found money since and kept it. It all depends on the circumstances if the money is in an addressed wallet etc?

I did, a couple of weeks ago, in front of a gas station, on the floor there was a pile of money. I asked around and the owner didn't seem to be around anymore. so I called the police since it was a big sum of money and they came. a person came to the police station and knew the exact sum in the pile, so she was the one that lost the money. I was glad I gave it back since it was her rent money.

I've returned wallets with all money intact and I've found money and not turned it in. I feel bad about the money I found that I didn't try to find the owner. I feel good about the money and wallets I've returned.

i have found a couple of wallets, with cash, cards etc in the past year or two, and handed those into the police. But on the other hand, i have found a £20 in a field miles from anywhere, so i kept it... in my opinion that's fair play... others may disagree.

Finding cash is always difficult because it is anonymous, unless you actually see someone drop it. I once found a chequebook, and set of credit and debit cards lying in the road and handed it in at the issuing bank. The owner was suitably grateful.

I work in an industry where our customers are always forgetful of what they keep in their pockets. Whenever I find a great deal of money I hand it in. Sometimes I get rewarded for my honesty, other times i don't.

I found a £10 note in my (last year) accounts book, so I spent it! Does that count as giving it back?

I think that I would try and find the owner....I just think that if I ever lost and money (I never have any) then someone would try and contact me.....but I think that most people would just keep it....
