There was hope as the Lions were up 13-0 in the first quarter.
But now reality is setting in 14-13 Cowboys -- 2nd quarter.

The tiebreaker between the Giants and the Packers is their strength of victories.
It's a long shot, but in order for Green Bay to get in, they would need:
1: A win against Chicago
2. Arizona, Detroit, Miami, Minnesota and San Francisco to all win
3. Carolina, Houston and Tampa Bay to all lose.

since they are not in the same division, it goes to what they call strength of victory, it is the combined record of all the teams that the giants and packers beat respectively, and right now the Giants hold that tie breaker, certain teams need to win and certain teams need to lose for the packers to make the playoffs, if any one of them goes wrong the Giants are in and the Packers are out. It's sad the giants won because I wanted to see Favre in the playoffs one more time..and on top of that Im a Redskins fan.

In time order, they need:
1:00
Detroit to win at Dallas
Minnesota to beat St. Louis at home
New Orleans to beat Carolina at home
Cleveland to win at Houston
Seattle to win at Tampa Bay
4:15
Arizona to win at San Diego
Miami to win at Indianapolis
San Francisco to win at Denver
If any of those don't occur, the Packers will be pounding their pud when they go out on the field at Chicago to get humiliated on national TV by the Bears. Which, of course, could be Brett Favre's last game, and it would be very fitting to have his eulogy delivered by his secret homosexual lover, John Madden.

The longshot comes in when, assuming the packers can beat the bears, they need detroit to beat dallas (not gonna happen), arizona to beat san diego (not gonna happen), miami to beat indianapolis (you get the picture...); essentially they need a lot of terrible teams to be good teams.
