when you download something off the net, your IP address is recorded. Basically there is a trail leading to your computer.

Ya did spell it wrong lol It's "illegally" but t'is o.k. lol. Often they're caught because they've got thousands of songs and they're constantly downloading. Makes em a higher priority for the thieves in the recording industry. Plus, some are making bootleg cd's to sell. I dunno if it's anything, but I DID notice that when I tried to download something LEGALLY, Media player started an action titled "scanning your computer for media" Might have something to do with it.
