Either hook it up directly to the router via ethernet or if it has a airport card installed then you can connect to the router if it's wireless, wirelessly. Either way, follow johndeerman's instructions.

It's easy..go to system preferences and click on "network".Under the "show" drop down menu select" built in ethernet". This will take you to the settings page to configure. Click on the "tcp/ip" tabe and configure using DHCP. You should see the router give you a IP address. Click apply. You're done. Happy surfing!
