Well, I'm not a "guy," but I know many people use that term to include women, so I'll answer anyway.

I live alone, I'm retired, and most of my time is spent alone. Normally I don't mind it, but lately it's been getting me down. I have a neighbor who has "adopted" me as her Mama, and she used to visit every day. But since her husband has been home (he was away for well over a year), she is getting scarce. And I find I am too dependent on a single person for my human contact.

Alone is fine when that's what you want, but when you can't find other people to talk to when you need them, it can get darn depressing. Generally, I wish I lived in a big house with a lot of people, but had my own large room and could get privacy when I wanted it. Like the co-ops I lived in when I was in college.

I spend most of my time being alone.
I enjoy it very much. I love silence, reflection and meditation.
I have learned to still the thoughts in my mind. My inner dialog is peaceful. I never get lonely because I have the universe as my constant and benevolent companion.
I do not enjoy the normal rush and hustle that is so common in today's modern world.

Someone who is attuned to the soul begins to perceive that a subtle guidance is at work. The soul is silent, therefore it cannot compete with the contentious voices heard in the mind. You know your highest self by listening to the voice that only wants you to be at peace.

Work where? and spend time alone doing what? So many questions that don't make sense. What are you talking about? You work by yourself and you feel lonely. Is that what you are trying to tell us?

If this is what i think it is, let me answer it this way...

I have been in multiple serious relationships (1 year or more)

and I'll say this,.. being in a relationship can be great,... but its also nice to be free,. and not have obligation,. and take that ever necessary ME time everyone needs...

I like having companionship,. but I have kick *** friends who fill that role...

So just continue to ride the waves,.. make the best of your free time, and don't worry too much
