That is a big question... and one of the many holes in the Big Bang theory. It's only widely accepted because it generally explains the state of things as they are today in the universe (where everything is moving further away from everything else).
There are other more exotic theories but they're not as accepted because some enter the idiotic realm of "dimensions" and other new-age, short-lived, ideas that say much but explain nothing.

The tiny sphere stated interior the large Bang concept became a small marble interior the middle of a bunch of marbles interior the bag of toy marbles carried to college with the aid of an Alien toddler 14 billion years in the past.

Its always been there, its just the nature of the universe. With the big crunch sorta been disproved, you have to go to string theory (m-theory)...it all confuses me. I don't know enough about it to even attempt to explain what happens with that.
The big bang theory isn't all that good anymore. It is sorta what happens, but in itself it doesn't tell the story.
But yeah, that sphere....more like an infinitely small point.... has just always been there.
I'm gonna attempt to skim the surface, i could be very wrong, but basically it says there are these things called branes. Our universe is in a brane. I don't know if there are multiple universes in one brane or just ours. But there are other branes. The brane we are in is very close to other branes, the distances vary, but when they actually touch. The universe ends in a big bang like event. So as ours ends another universe is created.
Again these branes have always been there. Infinitely backward and forwards in our concept of time.
If it helps, to show the complexity...our understand of time only exists since our universe has been created. I think its like 10^-30 seconds after the big bang, thats when time started.
i forgot where i was going with that last statment.

possibly when a positive charge lets say (+1) collides with a negative charge(-1)at the point 0,thus making a force of expansion in circular or spirals and from that crash this 2 types
of energies started to recompose their balance ,and the expansion started from there with out been able to stop ever and from there
the rest its history

the sphere ever existed and will exist forever
from infinitely small to- its growing infinitely big [thats wat the theory states]
