We are not losing it, we are failing to use it. The liberal PC crowd does inhibit a lot of people, and the Republicans (assuming you can find any these days) inhibit most of the ones the PC crowd does not. But the right to free speech is still there, right in the First Amendment to the Constitution.

Use it or you lose it.

I think we are losing some freedom of speech, and I think this is the most important right.

I think the republicans are more against freedom of speech, they are always trying to censor everyone and force everyone to have g-rated family values. Liberals censor also, but it is mostly to seperate church from state...For instance, a typical liberal would be against the a plaque saying "there is no god but god and muhammed is his prophet" in front of a court. As for politically correct terminology, this is mostly ethical and up to the person...You can call short people midgets and black people ni@@ers but people will just think you are a prick...You won't get arrested.

Who's losing freedom of speech? Both sides are free to throw mud at each other. Just look at the activity on this board.

Everyone always talks about Liberal PC what about Conservative PC? I can't say that the Prez made a bad call on Iraq without a bunch of dunderheads acusing me of being a traitor to my country and not supporting the troops.

I don't believe we are losing our freedom of speech, however we are losing our privacy in the name of "homeland security" and "the war on terror".

Warrantless wiretaps, sneak and peek home searches, these are all small steps to intrusion into our private lives.

And for those who argue that if you have nothing to hide, then you shouldn't have a problem with it need to understand it is the principle of it that bothers people.
