No one should be hitting anyone and if the guy hits you leave..I hate any kind of violence lets get back to free love and be happy ;)

I'm sure fighting violence with violence is the ideal solution. Apart from anything else, if the bloke relises you will stick up for yourself he wont see hitting you as a problem cos he will have the (somewhat pathetic) argument of " well you hit me back"
You need to leace this man, unfortunately as I have know idea where you are or how old you are I am unable to send you a relevant link to support services suitable for your situation but there is help available if you want it, just search the net.
I cant reitterate enough how important it is that you leave him, the long term effects of being hit, by anyone can be terrible.
