As a teen, and a girl, I know my boyfriend rather prefers giftcards. So buy him a gift card to Best Buy or a local retail music seller. If you don't really like that idea and would rather buy a gift from you, I would suggest (since I'm rather into rock, not the average girl listener music type :)) My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco, and if when this is needed to be bought in FEB. I would suggest the new Fall Out Boy CD coming out 2/6/07. Otherwise I dont really know and I really hope this helped you. Have a great new year and good luck to you!

Depending on what he is interested in and how he dresses and acts...that's how you should decide. If he is a prep or a jock he would like the R&B, rap, hip hop music. If he is emo/punk/goth/skater he would like rock, punk, and scary depressing music (My Chemical Romance...Taking Back Sunday...etc). Also, if he has an IPod you should get him a ITunes gift card instead of a CD...even though he says he wants a CD for his birthday most people would prefer not to get CDs. If he has an MP3 player than maybe some money for him to buy songs with. Or if they have gift cards for the MP3 player he has that would be a nice gift. Hope I helped you out some...have fun shopping!

I think your best bet if your going to buy a CD is to go to a music store (not wal-mart/ anywhere like that) but a store that sell's music. If you know what kind he likes but not the actual bands, just ask someone who works there where the new stuff is. Chances are if he's 15, he ether doesn't like it anymore, loves it, or he'll like it in a week or two

Best option would be to ask him, but otherwise why not get him an iTunes gift certificate so he can buy what he likes online? Also you could get him a gift certificate to amazon.com to buy cds, if he wants the physical cds, rather than mp3 files on a computer.

You really should do him a favor and buy him some rock like Led Zeppelin, Cream, Eric Clapton, Kansas, and other bands like that, teach him some culture and not this meaningless, overdone, rap music of today's teens. Teach him some culture.

I agree that a voucher for HMV would be better! Buying a CD for someone is such a personal thing as tastes vary so much. You may buy a CD by someone he detests or one he already has!

The best gift you can give him is to tell him about limewire (I am 16 and no one ever told me, i had to find out about it myself) If he doesn't already have it, he will be eternally grateful to you for revolutionizing the way he can get music, and sure if he does have it, he won't want a CD anyway!!
