We are going to an early dinner. (4:30pm) then home. My theory is New Year's Eve is when the amateurs come out. In other words, if you've never had a drink, New Years Eve is when you're probably going to taste your first sip of champagne. We'll get home early after dinner before the crazy people come out. Hopefully no one drives into my living room or den drunk!

Well this new year I'm going to be sitting at home watching the fireworks on the tele since my girl is in NZ. Usually though we have a few quiet drinks then jump on the train to our normal venue - the local fireworks in Brisbane. It's just a great atmosphere and because it is a family event all the drunks are at the pub and I'm more comfortable there. I don't like crowds but for that one night I handle the 100000 people there.

Well I am having a bunch of friends over for dinner and then go out for a bit. We are going to watch the Ball drop and then dance some more. Afterwards we are coming back to my place and having breakfast - and more drinks.
Basically I am spending time with the people I love and care about.

Staying home, put my feet up, watch the ball drop as the fools in the city freeze their butts off in Times Square as I stay nice a cozy warm under a lap blanket with a drink at my side.

Find a good friend or friends. And go to the supermarket by things you will need for cooking and cook a great dinner and enjoy your drinks.

No, I'm serious. So many people are just out to get drunk. Where does that get you? A hangover.
