David Copperfied may be the most famous and most read of Dickens' works, but I love Great Expectations even more. What about you?

Actually I enjoyed David Copperfield more.

In fact, I loved that book so much that as soon as I finished reading it, I decided to read it again.

I don't know if you ever had this feeling, but I felt like the book was so alive, that the characters were really living with me. It felt like I was with friends and such special, original friends. Also, Dickens has a keen sense of humor and sometimes, the book was very funny. Of course, there were moving parts as well. It's a book brimming with life and love of life.

I didn't like Great Expectations because, the manner in which it was written, and that being peice by peice in a newspaper, so the entire novel never was complete from start to finish at one single point. This made Dickens drag out certain parts of the story as per contract, but also tried to make it sometimes overly dramatic to attract a new market, making it seem indecent to todays reader. David Copperfield I enjoyed more anyways, maybe because I read it second and I thought his language and mode of writing became stronger which made for a better story and a better read for me.

I picked up David Copperfield to read it once, but the language in it was not challenging enough and the book too long. I did read Great Expectations. It was boring, but contained a lot of symbolism and hidden messages. I also like the fact that there is an epiphany at the end. The book ultimately shows peoples' narrow views and reaction to people outside their social class. Estella and Pip really do make a great couple though! Now that you mention David copperfield, I am determined to read it. I think i will.

I like both. I should say that the first book of dickens which I started reading (though very reluctantly)was David Copperfield. it inspired in me a luv 4 Dickens and a frenzy to read all his books.I'm now at 'A Tale Of Two Cities' and I habve to read 'Martin Chuzzlewit'. I really liked Great Expectations.I found it nore interesting than David Copperfield. This puts me in a queer situation-liking DC coz it brought abt a luv 4 Dickens and liking GE coz of the beautiful plot and story.

Great Expectations is one of the best books I have ever had the opportunity to read, I would recommend it to anyone. Although at times the book does seem to just be rambling on and on and on, but hey, that's Dickens for you. I'm glad somebody out there agrees with me.

I think they are both great must-reads. David Copperfield and Pip are great characters. I couldn't put down either one of these books.

though great expectations may seem more attractive as it is more of a gothic story, but there are interesting characters in dc as well
