My six-year-old iguana seems to be shedding all the time lately.

Answer Iguanas generally only shed as they grow. The skin comes off in response to them growing their own skin. If you feel that you have seen excessive changes in the skin molting pattern, have a veterinarian examine your iguana.

My leopard gecko sheds once or twice a month. Perhaps your iguana is growing (in weight)? I wouldn't consider this a bad thing, I mean, you want him or her to get rid of their dead skin.

They are supposed to have a pool of water they can dip into, but not so deep they could submerge themselves. I don't think they are supposed to shed large portions of their skin too often, but it is a continuous process.

Maybe it is just growing very fast
