Silence of the lambs, hannibal and red dragon by Thomas Harris. Way better than the movies and I just couldn't put them down. I love books about serial killers and murder mysteries.
Haven't read hannibal rising yet but will probably buy it in the next few weeks.
Thomas Harris is a brillant writer and his stories are so good that you can't put the books down.

Have to agree with byonjello. Atlas Shrugged. It is such an expressive title to a great book. What would happen if Atlas shrugged? The world he carried on his back would be off balance. The foundations of our beliefs are often shaken by certain realisations.

Of the books I have read lately, I would have to say "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini. When I first saw that It is a story of modern Afghanistan I was skeptical and thought BORING, but it is far from it. It is an educational book but set in a story that is fascinating, sad, and touching. You won't want to put it down once you start reading it.

The Giver by Lois Lowry. This book is amazing. It's makes you really think about the kind of world we live in today, and what would things be like if there were more restrictions. You really need to check this book out!
