THANK YOU everyone for cheering me up..
your kind words really make a difference to me and some answers have made me laugh, which at least has made me stop crying & being a sook.
Yes my plans fell through - friends had a massive argument with eachother & decided to do their own thing ..
my best friend has come down with a viral infection & is sneezy/coughy (poor thing)
I'm not a drinker and the way everyone is feeling tonight.. i dont want to welcome the NY in negativity..
so, im now a bit relaxed and content to stay on Yanswers

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2007 EVERYONE ... SYDNEY has just welcomed the NY .. and they realy outdid themselves with the fireworks... FANTASTIC =)

No - you're not - it's not new years eve here yet though for me, still only into the early hours of december 31st...
but i will be spending it alone tomorrow...
and i dont care - i could be doing a few half ***ed things, but i'd rather just enjoy my evening...
think of it this way, NYE is sucha forced holiday/celebration - like valentines day! it assumes that this is going to be a big huge, typically drunken party night for everyone, and the media/corporations/mainstream/society/us, allow ourselves to believe that we should all be out living it up.
It just feels too forced to me, and i've had way too many let downs - as cliche as it is, my best evenings out/celebrations/joys within the year, new or not, come when they are the least planned and the most 'normal'.
so don't feel down about hanging out at home - enjoy your space, and just be happy that you wont have to cover up some embarassing incident or kiss some ugly guy just because he was the only person there.
I'm looking forward to celebrating my new years alone at home in 21 hours! haha (and pssst happy new years from your fellow hermits on NYE! :)

Don't forget that New Year is merely a change in the date. We might as well celebrate July 7th or any other date. I can never understand what all the fuss is about. However if you're in Liverpool, England you could come and watch me play in my Rock n Roll Band at Netherley and Sephton B L Club tonight.

Yep home alone.. gonna sit down later and watch the fireworks on tv but that's the extent of my celebraqtions. I've been to enough new year do's to last me a lifetime anyway, someone always ends up fighting or playing around with anothers partner so much more peaceful here.

I'm not going out for NYE. I have a friend online I will most likely hang out with. Even if I wasnt going to be online I am way past the party stage of my life. I prefer a quiet life. Everyones different. Maybe next year you will go out.

that's tomorrow. I've definately gotten into staying home NYE and going out on New Years Day. In the sunshine it is like really celebrating a new world beginning.

I am!!! I chose to hate goping out too expensive too many drunks and really dull . I plan to do some spells!!! (Yes I am a witch) and watch TV ! Give your self a task of some kind so feel you have done something and as for work, LIE!!!

I'm totally with you...my plans fell through at the last moment and it turns out I'm going to be spending tomorrow night with my grandparents...very depressed about this also..hey maybe we can have a slumber party at my grammies! hahaha..yeah that was a joke :) anyway i hope your NYE isn't as terrible as I KNOW mine is going to be

I will be here with you. I am stuck working all night. But I don't really want to go out though. I really don't drink so I end up doing the munchie runs and babysitting the super drunk ones.
