Usally when someone lies they don't want to make eye contact, and if its a guy he will rub the back of his neck, and if its a women they will rub their arm. This is typical behavior when someone is lying.

direct eye contact, stable iris means the person tells the truth;
glances only, unstable iris, shaking iris, means you have to talk to the person and ask if he is lying,,,,

ARM POSITION,,,
firm fingers, steady arms means the person tells the truth;
moving fingers and unstable arm movements, means trust has been betrayed,,,,

VOICE TONE,,,,

shaking or unsteady tone means the person is lying,,,

PAUSING,,,
short pauses means that the person tells the truth;
no pauses or long pauses means that the person hates truth,,

I think this is the most SIMPLEST question you asked, but anyway, you do one thing just ask him/her bout his past's some memorable moments when he enjoyed most, then just wait few days or even a month or two then ask him/her again, if you'll find any difference, he/she IS A LIAR.........

Don't worry. Follow his words and actions closely. He will betray himself at some point if he is lying.

'Modest' is right. Don't you have sense? if you feel of telling lies it is sure that you wont come up in life. First of all note this point.
