Pi in maths is the ratio of the circumference of a cirlce to the diameter of the circle.Ï is the symbol representing pi
It is used to calculate the area and volume of the foll: figures
1 Circle
2 Sphere
3 Cylinder
4 cone
5 Eclipse
For reference got to wikipedia. Its really usefull.I have given the reference below.

pi is used to run useless computer programs to find the nth digit of pi, when its been proven that it has no end. furthermore, it is used to terrify geometry students, as well as algebra and calculus students. though, if you can understand calculus, you should not be scared of pi. It is also used to find circumference and area of a circle, it is used to convert radians to degrees, it is used for volume integrals in calculus, but, above all...... its just a number, so, if you are asked on a calculus test to derivate pi dont say 1, cuz then... you are afraid of pi, pi has owned you and it is now in control of your brain, it can do whatever it pleases... beware of pi...

Pi the number itself is arbitrary. But it is able to "summarize" and "make sense" particular mathematical outcomes. In integral calculus, if you are able to get a solution equal to Pi or an solution with Pi in it, you have obviously simplified the mess of having irrational numbers in your solution.
