Sea salt soaks twice daily (1/4 tsp sea salt to 1 cup warm water) other than that LITHA (Leave it the hell alone)

Do not use: mouthwash, bactine, rubbing alcohol, peroxide, tea tree oil or any of the other silly stuff I hear people talking about. simple is better. All of these products will dry your skin, irritate the piercing and delay healing.

do not touch or move the jewelry. you can remove any 'crusties' with a q-tip after soaking, but then go back to the LITHA method.

yes, I think it is too young. That being said, I love piercings! They are so fun and not permanent like tattoos. The downside of facial piercings is that everyone can see them (I know that's the point). You are still in school, does the school have a policy about it because it would be a bummer to have to take it out for school. Also, you are at the age where you may be getting a job before too much longer, a lot of employers don't like facial piercings when you deal with the public. I think your mom is wanting you to wait to get it, not to never get it. And besides, when you are "grown" you can go by yourself with a friend and that is a big part of the experience. Try to be patient. :) Good luck!
