When you look at your music in iTunes there are little boxes to the left of each song that you can check or uncheck...what are they for?

Those are for you to select songs to upload to your iPod if you want, or uncheck if you do not want them on your iPod.

I'm pretty sure that is their only use.

The little boxes next to each song on itunes is controlling the song. I f it is unchecked and you sync your ipod, the song will not appear on your ipod but it will remain in your library on itunes. If you want it back on your ipod, recheck the box and syncronize again. Also, when the box is unchecked, the song will not play if you run party shuffle or other playlists. I hope you understand now.

uncheck a box and next time you want to update your ipod and it will not be on the ipod anymore but it will still be in the library

in case you uncheck them, then itunes won't play that music while you're on shuffle or some thing additionally, once you plug on your ipod no count if it relatively is unchecked, the music will on no account be transferred on your ipod

if the boxes aren't checked and you put it on party shuffle it will not play that song
