the PS3 all the way!!
the wii was created for kids, or people that never got into videogames, example: you grandpa.
trust me, the PS3 is going to win this war of consoles at the end. the wii only did good this year because of one game: ZELDA (wich was originally created for the gamecube so the graphics suck the same). but once people get tired of it, then you won't find anything else and that's when the PS3/XBOX360 will shine. it's plain simple, all the awesome games are beign developed for a more powerfull machine, like PS3 & X360. the wii is just as powerful as the original XBOX, wich is "last-gen" graphics and physics card. PS3 is going to beat all of them, because of BLU-RAY technology. a blu-ray disc can hold as much as 50 gig, while the X360 or wii only hold 4.7gigs. what it means is that u can have an extremely beautifull looking game that is really long on one disc instead of 6 disc(X360/wii). please visit this website to understand a little more about the PS3.
GOOD LUCK!!
PS: wii=weak

Think about in a way thet best interest you! The Wii currently has Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, and it is extremly fun. But remember the wii is all about fun. The ps3 on the other hand to most people seems like an over-rated DVD player. Its not and get over it. The ps3 can play Blu-ray movies, has high-definition games, and the 6 degree tilt on it can seem somewhat interactive but no gurantee. It really depends on your style of gaming.

Do you want to play games or watch BluRay movies?

If you want to play games, get a Wii.
If you want to watch movies, get the PS3.

A large majority of the games for PS3 keep getting their release postponed, and I have yet to see an ad for it where it actually does something other than sit there (although I would like that rubix cube). Most of the games for PS2 should work with 3, but some of the specialty controllers (like the guitar for GuitarHero) might not be compatible.

Wii has a handful of games out already and more should follow. You won't have the BluRay capability of PS3, but then, all BluRay movies are region coded so it's not a large draw back. Wii is supposed to be backwards compatible with GameCube games.

I say Nintendo Wii. Awesome graphics, interactive gameplay, and the wireless control.

No, you are able to in simple terms use a game cube controller for game cube video games, because it has buttons the classic controller would not. besides the undeniable fact that, game cube controllers could be picked up for sort of £5/$10 at a close-by game save or someplace like Amazon. desire this enables, Tom.

I never liked the PlayStation, always been a Nintendo fan, but even if I weren't I would say save that extra cash so you can have more games, unless money is nothing to you.
