Ask the Houston Texan fans if Reggie Bush is overrated...

Did he score a touchdown against Carolina less than five minutes into the game? The answer to your question is---Hell No!!! Reggie is worth every dollar we are paying him, that is why his rookie card is in my den, right next to my helmet signed by the 2006-2007 New Orleans Saints!!! Don't think for a minute that we don't love our other running backs. Everytime Deuce scores, or for that matter, carries the ball in the dome, everyone yells DEUCE. The only reason Reggie is highlighted so much right now is because at the time, he happens to be the rising star, but as for being overrated, he isn't. See Yall In The Super Bowl!!!

He's not overrated at all...however he may be over hyped...plus Bush is not a full time back or receiver in New Orleans, so that may make a difference...If you want overrated look at Vince Young, the guy will probably win offensive rookie of the year and in no way deserves it, Needless to say the Titans are not winning based on offense...i beleive i saw the other day his passer rating is like 69 and he completes 50% of his passes both of which are lower than Jason Campbell with the redskins, not to mention undoubtably other young quarterbacks...dont get me wrong the mans an amazing athlete and very talented...just doesnt deserve rookie of the year...thats over rated....Real ROY?? Marquis Colston from NO or McNeil from SD

A player should be given at least 3 years to adapt to the game once they have been drafted. It takes time to learn and understand the game. However, why does everyone have to make a big deal out of his size. Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith were not that big. Also look at how small Warrick Dunn is and he is still an effective runner for the Falcons. I think his overrated because people expect him to play on the same level as his USC career but they fail to understand that there is a big difference in the college and professional level. I think that Marques Coltson for the Saints is one of the most underrated rookies and has the potential to be an all star receiver if he can stay healthy.

He's a good 2 running back because of his agility and speed. He has some good moves for the fancy stuff but he needs a 1 running back like Maurice Jones-Drew to be the work horse.

Yes he is overrated. They hyped him so much out of college they don't want to be proven wrong so they keep at it. He was never that great though. He is, from what I have seen, an average running back. I'm not saying he is terriable, just he isn't really anything that special.
Oh and the he is small arguement is bull. As was said of Sanders but hey let's go with someone playing RIGHT NOW. Willie Parker. He is a pretty small dude but he can take off and run. He was also taught patience right from the start. Oh and if you think size matters all I can say is TWO 70+ runs IN ONE GAME. So yeah a small back CAN do it even as starter.

I believe that he is very overrated in regards to him being to next great runningback. The kid is an excellent runner and reciever, but he can't pound the ball up the middle. He's is not that durable in the long run. I don't have anything against smallish runningback. Warrick Dunn is one of the best small guys who also take it up the middle. I think he is a great special teamer and reciever, but he won't last a full season as the featured back on any team.

It's too soon to say if he is overrated or not. Honestly, I can see him being a Michael Vick type of player: he does something outrageous and electrifying once out of every 1,000 plays and the NFL/media worships him. However, he does kind of remind me of Brian Westbrook... which isn't bad at all.

Yes, he is by far overrated. He is a rookie, plain and simple. To expect him to run for a 1000 yards and 20 TD's this season is outrageous. Especially with Duece McAllister on this team also. Bush is too small to run between the tackles. He is also impatient and does not wait for the o-line to develop the running lanes. He tries to make something that isn't there. In USC, it worked because he was playing PAC-10 defenses who overpursue everything, but in the NFL, they will wrap his little butt up and break him in half.

I think Reggie Bush is going to be a good player in the NFL....notice I said good...not great. He is going to be a great situational back/receiver. I think his versatility will make him an asset for the Saints for years to come...but I do not see him a a every down back for any extended period of time in the NFL because of his durability.
