if it were put to a popular referendum, what percentage of the voting age population do you think would vote to lower the drinking age from 21 to 18?

- i asked this question in the "politics" category, and all i got were d*ckhead responses. i was hoping that by posting in society & culture i'd get more sane replies.

It might encourage people under 21 to get out to the polls. I don't know why there aren't, but probably because the 18-21 demographic doesn't carry much weight in the polls.

you may get a intense percentile from electorate elderly 18-20, yet previous that I doubt a grassroots pass might get diverse help. The eating age in diverse places grow to be 18 years old. statistics have shown that elevating the eating age to 21 have decreased incidents of alcohol appropriate issues. you've a perplexing time getting a intense adequate proportion of electorate to have faith otherwise. maximum electorate have been 18 years old and have been 21 years old. They understand they have been greater effective geared up to attend to the duty of no be counted if to drink or no longer at 21 than they have been at 18.

The drinking age should be 18. At 18 you can join the military, fight and die for your country, but you can't enjoy a beer?

Something about that is wrong. I am unsure on what % the vote would be on if some bill were to be introduced to the house and senate.

I am 18 and I wouldn't vote for it. You would have an absolutely impossible time getting a referendum for that one.

There are much, MUCH more important things for us to think about right now. Our time, money and political energy need to be used to solve real problems.

P.S. 18 year olds who want to drink that badly aren't smart enough or organized enough to start a "grassroots" effort, and no one is going to do it for them!
