You first have to create and save a video clip on your computer so that you can upload the video clip to YouTube.

There are two ways of creating an uploadable video file.

1) Rip a VOB file that contains the clip from your DVD using DVD ripping soft. And then take out the portion of the file you want to upload from the ripped file, which most likey requires another soft. You can look for a DVD file splitter, cutter, or a video editing program that is capable of handling the DVD/MPEG2 quality files. YouTube doesn't let you upload a file larger than a certain size. So, you may need a video editing program / video converter to convert the clip into a lower-quality file such as MPEG1 depending on the size of your clip.

2) Alternatively, you can to get a screen capture program that allows you to record what's happening on your computer screen. With this type of program, you can record your screen while play the portion of the DVD. If you pick this option, make sure not to capture at a very high quality as YouTube doesn't accept video files larger than certain mega bytes, like I said earlier.

I personally recommend the 1st option, ripping a file from the DVD + taking out the clip from the file with a video editing program. Screen capture can be tricky and may require adjustment to control panel settings and/or a high-spec machine depending on the program you use and how you record it.
