I have a compaq presario 5000 series... will any RAM fit into my computer? I want to upgrade... I can make space by taking one RAM out and putting the higher one I plan to buy in...

I think compaq presario 5000 series use PC100 or PC133 SDRAM

There are many types pf different ram about. You should consult Compaq about the type of ram and it's speed (or look at the ram already in the computer because it should have a sticker on it) so that you get the correct type.

Be VERY careful with ram because static electricity destroys it. Be sure to touch the metal case of the computer before the ram and do NOT walk anywhere with it unless it is safely in an anti static bag. Even walking 2 or 3 meters can build enough static electricity to destroy it

bring your ram to a computer store so the store clerk knows what kind of ram u need, they will help u, maybe even take the computer with you and get them to install it, you could mess up a good computer if i don't know what your are doing. just bring your computer so u don't mess up the ram taking it out unless u have antistatic bags for your ram

just get a Ram and plug it on to the Ram sot in yiur comouter.
Thats all
all PCs have 2 slots for Ram
You can opt for a gb or two
