I go to Vegas two to three times a year - I love the shows.
Without question, "O" is the most fantastic show you will ever see. I've seen every Cirque show except for the one in Disney Orlando, and nothing comes close.
The show itself is "indescribable" and the cast performs the most unbelievable feats on land, in the air and in the water. The staging, the costumes, the music, the entire presentation will leave you with a sence of awe! The French word for water is "eau", pronounced "O", hence the name of the show. Go "O", you will not regret that decision.
Here's some other info about other shows in Las Vegas:
People loved Celine Dion - just not my cup of tea. The new Beatles/Cirque show, "Love" is at the Mirage. I plan on seeing that on my next visit - it's gotten good reviews. As for a suggestion for another show, Mama Mia is great, and Danny Gans is superb. Either one of those would make your night. Blue Man at the Venetian is very unique, and the Sintas at the Rio is a very good family oriented show. If you like magic – Lance Burton is the best. I saw Dirk Arthur at the Tropicana on my last visit – really a class “B” act!
For fun we went to see the Neil Diamond tribute show at the Riviera - Jay White, the fellow that does Neil, is nothing less than perfect! His appearance, voice, clothes and moves ARE Neil Diamond. I thought that I was at a Neil Diamond concert. The room is rather small, maybe 200 people in the audience. We had a ball. You can get half-price tickets for this and many other shows at ticket outlets up-and-down the strip. The outlets are called "Tickets 4 Tonight" and they go on sale about 11:00 AM (first-come-first-served) for that night's performances only.
Another good source for reliable discounts are the books (such as “What’s on in Las Vegas” or “Las Vegas 24/7”) that are distributed in most hotels. The also give good info on where to eat and what to see. They’re really good little pocket guides!
The best free show is the Fountains at Bellagio - they perform every 15 minutes after dark - just spectacular. The Siren’s of TI show at Treasure Island is also good Other free attractions of note are the Lion Habitat at MGM, the Volcano and the White Tigers at Mirage, and the fountains inside the Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace. If your going downtown, the Fremont Street Experience is truly on-of-a kind, and don’t pass up the ’world famous’ $.99 shrimp cocktail at the Golden Gate Hotel! Head over to the Rio (with free transportation from Harrah’s) to see the Carnival in the Sky.
I strongly suggest that you take a ½ day away from the strip and go to Hoover Dam. That is quite a sight! There are many tour companies to chose from that will pick you up right at your hotel.
Hope this helped.
Happy New Year

If you do see O like I think you should be prepared for a warm theater. Many people don't realize that it can be a bit humid in there because of a giant swimming pool. All Cirque shows are great but the idea of them doing that on water, above water and in water is allot of fun. I would love to do a cannonball off of those things into the water. Tix go fast so sign up early.

Personally I loved KA at the MGM Grand. The performance was incredible and the stage itself is so cool! It moves up and down and tips up completely sideways, It's so hard to describe you've
got to see it for yourself! Here is a couple of links that might help you out:

i think that 'O' is the best show. The theatre they perform it in was built especially for this show. it is beautiful. they do amazing theatrical acts, as always, but this time in the air and in the water. you will not be disappointed. they are all really good shows though. i have not seen the new one called LOVE set to Beatles music. sometimes Mystere will have great discounts on the tickets if you are budgeting yourself.

I've only seen Mystere - and LOVED it!! My boss has seen O and Zumanity and loved O, but she said Zumanity was so vulgar she was offended. (She's by far, no where near a prude, so this has to be pretty gross.) I don't know anyone who's seen Love either.
