Should the government legalize prostitution? I have an idea I wanted to bring up. If you think they should legalize it, should they also regulate it? I was thinking that what they should do is legalize it, regulate it, and use the welfare recipiants as the prostitutes. If they did this, then it would generate money for our government, people would get what they wanted, women would get welfare that they actually earned. I know they would have to work some things out like safety type issues and all. But generally don't you think this would be a good idea?? It's just a suggestion, if you don't think its a good idea, just say so, no need to get abusive. Thank You!

What a moral mine field.............Yes, In an ideal world, I think it should be legalised. I think the prostitutes should be made to only have safe sex - regular checks - be kept in a clean and safe environment. However, its not an ideal world and I don't know how the prostitutes themselves feel about it.

Prostitution is legal in the Red Light District of Amsterdam and seems to work out well for everyone.
However, the Europeans have a culture that is much older than that which exists in the USA or Canada, so the Amsterdam thing might not work in the large cities of North America.

Prostitution is a victimless crime so therefore it should not be a crime. There is nothing wrong with it so it should be legal and the government should leave adults alone. No regulation just let people openly pay for sex without worry. I don't get why its even illegal in the first place. The only reason is because disgusting feminists think its degrading and they don't want their husbands or ex husbands getting any action.

First of all:

Yes, prostitution should be legalized. As far as I'm concerned, in a free country as person should be able to do whatever they want with their lives and their bodies as long as it does not infringe on the rights of others.

As to your second point, you can't force somebody to do a job, especially something sexual. Once again, "free country."

Edit: Something else I've always wondered...Why is prostitution illegal, but it's legal for porn industries to pay two people to have sex with each other? What's up with that?

Not that I'm complaining about porn, or anything, because I do love my hardcore...

Hillbilly, I love you. In country's where Prost are legal there's hardly any rape but drugs are big time but very little to no rape and less pedophile cases then America. I agree they should make it legal and heavy regulate it. Prost. should have chips implanted like animals that has strong encryption that has there health files and drug stores sale bar code readers so ppl looking to buy sex can scan them and see if there are healthy.

Yes! It has a way of protecting the society, regulating it is not necessary as it will take care of its self

No because thier kids will have to deal with it at school....not a good idea to force a certain group in that idea of yours. If someone wants to then go for it, but me NO I could never disgrace my body or kids that way.

Your question begs for abuse....but I won't give it to you. Prostitution should be legal... and the profession should be open to any and all who want to follow that career path.

Hell yeah. More jobs, more tax revenue, less crime, and safer for the tricks and the hos. Plus they could get it off the streets.
