They are almost to 0.500 (I count OT losses as losses, not ties).

While they are in a weak division (which should help them since you play each team in your division 8 times), they are also in the stronger conference (slightly stronger) and will have to battle hard just to get a ticket to the dance.

It's a long way away, but if they do make it, no one will be to worried about playing them. When your leading scorer has played in less than half of the games, that says one thing for sure...that's a one-horse team. Only 5 other teams have less than 100 goals (3 are in the Central).

Khabibulin looks like he's found a home...again. Don't expect that to last too long. We've seen that act before. Nonetheless, he's your best goalie. Lalime and Boucher are too susceptible to crises of confidence.

Getting Savard was part of the improvement. They certainly look a lot better of late and health is another big reason. Hard to win when a lot of your best players are hurt. Khabibulin is looking like he has regained most of the skill that put him among the best goalies, finally just playing and not worrying about the big contract. And it doesnt hurt that the D in front of him is much improved. So yea, I agree they look a lot better now.
