As a guy, if a girl you never met before breifly made eye contact, and then smiled... possibly then continuing on her way or stands/sits near by, how is it interpretted?

I wouldn't add any significance to it other than the fact that I am a friendly person, and so is she. If she remains nearby, I might initiate a conversation with her in a friendly and (hopefully from her point of view) platonic approach, as in my case, I will always endeavour to formulate a friendship with a woman, as all in all that is the more lasting relationship, and anything else will show itself as the relationship progresses, if it progresses.

If I was that guy I would think that girl is stalking me..... anyways yeah, I would interpret it as "oh she thinks I'm cute". These are signs of casual flirting.

distinctive ppl have distinctive perceptions, some would think of that ure hinting that ure in love at first sight with them, some would think of its a courteous thank you to bypass by, some would think of like "do i understand u? why r u smiling at me?" some dont worry
