If there is a used Tampax involved, and you're very sure of this you will need to go to the ER to have it removed as soon as possible.

If you don't get it removed, you stand an excellent chance of developing a serious infection.

Perhaps you can go to the doctor, first thing in the morning.

Honey, if you've searched yourself as best you can but can't find it, you need to go to the hospital. Aside from the TSS you could get from having it in too long, it could also become infected or permanently lodged within you. The only other thing I can think of is if you have a friend you really, really trust to try and get it out but it is an awkward thing to ask.

It can't get lost because it has nowhere to go. The string should still be hanging down if you put one in. But if you're really worried... put your finger up there and feel around. If you can't feel a tampon or a string then there isn't one up there.

And if you still don't believe that it can't get lost then do an experiment with another tampon. Try putting another one up there and if it goes in fine then you know there's not one up there already.

Also, if you were at home when you think you put the tampon in then go to the trash can you usually use to throw away the applicator and look for it. If there isn't one then you didn't use one.

Go ahead and try stuff like that before freaking yourself out too much, okay? People do worry about this a lot, but there's really nothing to worry about.

Well, unless it's painful it won't hurt you to wait until tomorrow and then go to the doctor. If you are sure something is in there then don't use another. Use a pad, go to bed and try again in the morning. If you can't fish it out after trying a few different positions then the doctor may be the best course of action. Good luck but don't fret, it can't go far.

Everyone seems to have opinion on this one.

If you are nervous at all, go now or at least call a local ER or intermediate care center. Get real medical advice.

I have had the "pleasant" experience of removing one. If you are sure you used one base your response on the following criteria -

If it is from within the last 12 hours: Try (as uncomfortable as it might be) to feel around inside your cervix. It may be as easy as that. If you are able to find the string, carefully remove it as the environment may cause it to be more likely to detach from the tampon. If this works, follow up with a physician in the morning as there may be remnants left.

If you are unsuccessful at finding or removing it be very cautios of any fever or other sign of discomfort in, around or near your genitals or even your anus (yes I said anus, haha). Also, any change in vaginal secretion color or smell, wake up the GP's and get to the ER. This would be a clear sign that an infection has set in. It may not be serious, but the possibility of Toxic Shock Syndrome is real and can be VERY SERIOUS.

If this is over 12 hours ago but still today, I would suggest you place a call to the local ER and ask for the Triage station. They will be much more helpful and it is your life not us answerers.

As for the woman who I was lucky enough to help, she came in to the office complaining of a very unpleasant odor eminating from her vagina. She had left one in for 2 weeks and was okay. I tell you this so you keep a clear head but be sensible. Safest thing to do is get medical attention as soon as possible to be sure.

Go to the dr or hospital in the morning. You should be fine. Your cervix keeps things from going up into your uterus and body. Are you sure it didnt just fall out?

Ok, you really should wake them up. If you leave those things inside you can die. Toxic Shock Syndrome. It's caused by leaving one inside you for too long. I dated a girl that had one stuck....I helped her remove it.....it was unpleasant, but whaddya do? She went to the doc the next day to be sure... he told her a lot of people die from that. If you've had it in for more than a couple hours i'd go to the hosp. Good luck

You either take a nice warm bath to relax and proceed to try to recover it. -OR- If you can't find it, you may have to suffer a little humiliation and go to a doctor to have them find it. You don't necessarily have to go see a doctor immediately. Your grandparents can take you to an urgent care clinic in the morning.

calm down its not stuck it may feel like that since the tampon is still dry and its sticking to the walls of your vagina. pull it out slowly tho and dont hold it by the end of the string i find it easier to pull it out with my hand on the part of the string thats still touching the tampon

......It's kinda bad that your having doubts that you used one, but if you did you one there is no where for it to go, so yea it cant like travel all through your body, if you used a tampon it would be in there. Hope this helped.
