He murdered people, plain and simple. I personally disagree with the death penalty, but it's Iraqi justice. Peace be upon his soul, and upon theirs.

Unfortunately, I think that Saddam had to die in this manner. Ultimately, ironically enough he ended up dying on a day that was not of his choosing, just as he arranged for thousands of Iraqis in the time that he was in power. I think that the justification for this is that in the end although he showed fear (probably of dying) he still showed no remorse and no regret over the way he brutally reigned his country.
Here was a guy that had his brother-in-laws killed upon their return to Iraq after giving them assurances that they would not be harmed if they came back to Iraq from Jordan (where they had initially fled from him). I believe that he also had his ex-wife killed too. I mean this is how he treated his own family, let alone his countrymen. It's just wrong.
I fear for Saddam's soul. I get the feeling that he may have a long hellish eternity awaiting him....

No! We have made him a Martyr!
Hitler tried to take over the world. Hussein just fought the Iranians for us after we put him in power! You can see why he needed a tight control on the different factions as it is borne out in the streets daily!
I don't know whether we have killed more Iraqi's than Saddam but we have killed well over a million since 1990! And Bush operates torture camps as well, set up secretly in countries like Poland by the CIA! Bush lied about having them until it was proved they existed!
In my eyes, he is no worse than Bush, who should be tried as well!
People think we are so Lily white. We have toppled many countries leadership, assassinated others and carried out our own terrorist attacks blaming them on some one else! That is how the democratically elected government of Iran was overthrown and our boy the Shaw of Iran came to power! Why? OIL!!

Justified? I don't know. I don't think it was a good path. Killing guys that high on the totem pole is usually not the preferred method. However, considering the high number of criminals habitually escaping Iraqi custody, I understand the need to 'dispose' of him. To chance him reuniting with the Mujahideen is unacceptable.

Justified? Why not asked the relatives of the genocide victims that Saddam was hangged for? Then ask yourself, is it justified?

In some ways, I guess he can be compared to Hitler.
I definitely think the hanging was justified. If doing what he does doesn't warrant death sentence then what does?!

I am not sure if I believe in the death penalty, but I think he got what he deserved! Why let him live, to talk, breathe, eat, anything that he took away from thousands of people. What he did to his OWN people is just plain disgusting! And if could do that to his own people, why not to us. I dont care if they say they didnt find WMD, he is, no, WAS still capable!

No, it was not justified. He should ahve been out through all the tortures, that he put others through first. Allowed to regain health and strength between each one. Then, he should have been hung.

Yes, he had it coming, he was the butcher of Baghdad, but that still doesnt justif the war to remove him, since we concentrated upon Iraq rather then those who attacked America
