means call before you are back home late?

It means call if you think you will be comming home late so i don't woory and call all the hospitals in the area worrying that you are lying there all bloody and such.

If you are going to come home late...then call to let them know that you will be home late, so they are not left to worry of your whereabouts needlessly.
This is a good practice so that when something bad happens to you they will know immediately that you must be in need of help since you are always apt to call if you will be late.
