Not all secret shoppers projects are scams!! I used to do them before it got really crazy. Don't pay to signup with any. Those are scams. All you do is look up secret shoppers sites that require no fees and register your information. They will assign you jobs or you will have to view them daily and get to them first.
Things to be aware of though....
Some will not pay you if you do not type up the report perfect ....meaning no errors at all.
Some require that you put a little money up front at a store and they will return your cash to you once the project is complete.

Just be careful some are not legit. There was a site that was something like Mystery Volt....they were great. Like I said I used to do it. If you looking for a little extra cash here and there than that will work. If you want full time cash than email me I have a site for you to check out.

Good luck to you,

Christy

It doesn't seem to be worth it. You get paid on the par of minimum wage or just above AND afterwards you have to write a detailed report on everything that happened, making the pay about half of minimum wage. I'd get a job IN the store because you'd be making more than a secret shopper would.

There are real ones, and you should find those research companies like AC NEilson etc.

Likelihood: go to supermarkets, banks and pretend to be a customer, and evaluate their service standards

You have to reveal your identity on most of the shopping sites.
