it started out that she was simply grieving her sons death, but i believe its more than that.

i believe she was a bush hater from the start, one of those leftover, freeze-dried hippie freaks who stillthinks this is the 60s and believes she has the right to demand demand demand meeting after meeting with the President simply because her son died doing what he CHOSE to do. I suspect she didnt approve of her sons choice and is taking full political advantage of her sons loss of life to make her own anti-war anti-bush statement.

ok cindy, youve said your smack for a few years now. go back to berkeley and be the nice hippie freak that you are, but doit among the rest of the hippie freaks there so you wont make such an idiot of yourself.

respect your sons death for crying out loud.

I think it's really sad that woman who has lost her son in a war that just doesn't make sense becomes the target of all this bashing. She has every right to demand a justification from the current administration. When people join the "all volunteer army" they and their families have a reasonable expectation that those volunteers will only be put in harm's way in a just war (if such a thing exists). The current war is clearly not "just." A pre-emptive attack based on fabricated evidence can never be just. Cindy Sheehan is not crazy and she is not trash. She just doesn't want any other mothers to go through what she has.

As Howard Zinn said, "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism."

I feel very sorry for the woman..it is unbelievably hard to lose a child...and her grief has been used by people around her now to just satisfy THEIR " hate- the president" agenda. When two people disagree on an issue, what good does it do to constantly "want to talk to the president, yadda, yadda" he met with her once...they have different points of view....she should not be laying in the road " to speak to the president, etc" She is being used. I could only think of three words to say to her, when she keeps blaming the president....but I wouldn't have the heart to say them.....but they are: ALL VOLUNTEER ARMY
She should go somewhere totally alone, for a long period of time, and ask herself and her son "Why did YOU do it?"

I think Cindy is a woman who has not dealt with her sons death, or refuses to deal with it. Everything she does is, or seems to be out of anger. Her Anger drives her, but I also wonder what kind of woman she was in the first place. Can a person who holds on to anger for so long have much capacity to love? I am positive that she loved her son because she refuses to accept his loss. But her actions are selfish. It is not because she wants to prevent others from losing a son or daughter. I think she pulls all her Sheehanigans to be kept in the limelight. I think this is her public temper tantrum. You can be angry all you want but it wont bring back the dead. Publicly I have not heard her speak of Casey, other than she lost him. She needs counseling!!!

The answer is that she is a politican, and deserves to be held to the same standards as any other politician.

From all accounts, she started out as a grieving mother.

Some months later, she took a notion that she should go out on the campaign trail against President Bush. (That's the definition of a "Democrat.")

The novelty of a grieving mother as a politican got the attention of the news media, getting her all sorts of attention. But she's no longer a grieving mother. She's a politician, a "Democrat," seeking the limelight for herself and votes for her cause.

I think about all the parents and loved ones who are grieving without putting on a circus show even though their loss is as great as Sheehan's.

I think she's nuts. It's one thing to protest a war, but it's another to put yourself or others in harm's way just to get some attention. I think she has done her son a great disservice by protesting the war in the way that she has. He didn't die for her to act like an idiot! She needs to go home and properly grieve for losing her son.

That's basically my feelings... in a nutshell.

I think she may be slightly 'off' due to the trauma of her son's death. I just don't think her actions and thoughts are rational.

She is TRASH. Her son died for something he considered to be a good cause and she is out there saying he died for nothing. Way to go.
