She is a middle aged smokin hag who never cleans. She has one window open and I can smell ODORS from her house all day. We are seperated by a 6ft wood fence but the odors seem to float my way. Should I leave a bucket of cleaning items on her doorstep!

call city hall and ask if there are any laws against a house with unpleasant smells bad enough to bother the neighbors.

if, for instance if she has a lot of animals inside, she could be breaking the law, especially if she keeps them living in filth.

she may have a sewage problem. maybe the dept. of sanitation could be called out to check out a garbage problem.

if city hall can't help, call some home cleaning services and ask them to send information or pamphlets to the neighbor's house. maybe she will get the message and she doesn't have to know you were the one who sent them.

you could politely talk to your other neighbors to find out if any of them have been bothered by the odor and maybe one of them knows her well enough to talk her into closing that window.

You can place fragrant plants along your fence to absorb the bad odors and emit their own. You can also try closing your window. Another option is to report the neighbor to your local town's health office for action. There are laws against unclean houses.

you can call the health department and they will go over there and if they find it is unhealthy they will give her a time to have it cleaned up or they will remove her and condem the house
