i dont know how youre going to take what im going to tell you...but here goes. i used to cut myself, and you will not quit until you are ready. if you want to try to go to a psychologist and get on meds that is purely up to you..but i have myself been on anti depressants and anti anxiety meds and still have cut. when you truly are ready to stop...it will come on its own. The only thing i can say is if you feel you are ready, and still cannot, then seek professional help, most often in these situations, inpatient is the best....that way preventative measures can be taken if you attempt to cut. Meditation. Whne you think you need to cut start meditating. Once you get good you can make yourself feel like you are on another planet, it is amazing. Think of your body. Believe in yourself no matter what may have been said to you by others. Join a support group. If there isn't one in your area start one be the pioneer to help yourself and others like you.
For sure go talk to someone. Find your trigger point and maybe they can help you with it. If it is anxiety let them treat you for it. I take meds daily for anxiety and they help big time.
Find someone you can talk to anytime day or night just to vent on them lean on someone.
But what ever you do you need to do it for yourself and only for your self!

Alright, well most cut to relieve another source of pain.. depends on the case.. basically.. just don't do it... You can try getting rid of anything that you think you would try to cut with... don't get around sharp stuff ya know? find a different hobby... like lets see... you could get a really addictive game to play instead... or you could try taking care of your skin.. like some ppl i know stopped cutting by putting lotion on the area's they cut in (hips, wrists, legs, stomach, neck, chest, shoulders etc.. etc..) find something else to do and think of your body as something to protect no matter how much pain you're in.. hope i helped...

You really need to talk to a professional about this. They will help you understand why you do it. Understanding why is the key to learning how to stop. No matter what pain you are trying to get rid of, it doesn't help. All it does is cause more pain, and visible scars. It's something you NEED to stop doing. For yourself.

sit yourself down without any sharp objects around, and think about why you cut. Is it to make sure you're still alive, to drown emotional pain, what is it? then solve that, and avoid sharp objects :D and telling someone and asking for help really helps

Like do you actually follow through with it? what makes you want to? what goes through your head when you do it or r wanting to? How does it make you feel? How do you feel afterwards?...
