team meeting? I mean, he should have let me know about those things first as I didn't know. I guess I didn't ask about those questions either ... He gave me a written warning with the 3 verbal warnings on there but I really didn't know about what I should or shouldn't do until I get the written warning but now it's kind of like too late and I feel like a failure and stuck in a rut that I can't get out. I just feel really defeated... you know... because having a job is important to me .... I don't know what I should do and what do you think has happened?

I think he said one time that he was frustrated about seeing me having a file for over an hour but actually I didn't know that I am not supposed to do that and was just trying to be careful with my files as I thought that's the only thing they are grading you on and I also had many questions on a file, and so it took longer.. But I guess I should have asked about it but it never occurred to me to ask that question, you know...

It sounds like you and your boss aren't in agreement on what your job description is and what your job duties are. It's a basic communication issue. You need to meet with your boss, privately, and express your concern over your job performance. Tell him that you want to do your job well, but that you're not entirely sure of what's expected of you. Use this meeting to iron out ANY issues between you and your boss, but remember to keep it very professional. This is your time to ask any questions you need to. It's in your boss's best interest to do this as well, the company doesn't want to fire you unless you give them absolutely no choice. The company has time and money invested in training you to do your job, at this point it makes better financial sense to complete your training, than to start from scratch with someone else. Take notes during this meeting, and then afterwards I'd draft a memo to your boss going over the meeting, and ask that memo be put in your employee file. Best of luck to you.

sounds like you should have a sit down talk with your boss. If you need to write out your concerns and have them read it and then discuss the issues, it will help to clear the air and can cause your boss to be more of a supporter. If your boss is a normal person they will respect you for trying to be a better employee and help you along. Start the discussion "something has been bothering me and I need your help" everyone responds to being asked for help
