Yes it can. Putting to much stress on the situation can actually affect performance, quality and quantity of sperm and cervical mucus, and the guys getting to the egg.

Relax, don't think of baby making, just think of your partner.

I've been trying as long as you, which in all honesty isn't that long :) I had a harder time the first two times. Cried in the bathroom, miserable all day, worried and irritable...the whole bit. I started my period a week ago, and aside from a minute of watery-eyes, I managed to concentrate on my husband. I thought about how this meant we had another month *just us* and that no matter what, he's always here for me. Yes, we want children, but right now at least we are together and very, very happy. I don't want the TTC journey to be upsetting for us--it should be fun! Instead of moping, he and I talked about our hopes and dreams for the kids that we will have one day. We laughed and joked and smiled at each other, knowing that a period does not mean that babies will never come...that period is part of what means you CAN have children. Good luck, hun! Baby dust!

I would have to say it depends on the level of stress. I myself am and have always been highly strung and a major stress head (according to my husband and family) however I managed to get prego. Due any day actually. If you are having problems conceiving, I highly recommend getting an ovulation kit (from Woolworths or from the Chemist) to determine when you are ovulating. As soon as I worked this out, I was prego that month. Good luck.
