What are you trying to burn to DVD?

If you are trying to copy a movie, it is illegal to do that.

If you are trying to burn a slide show or movie that you created in iMovie you need to transfer your project into iDVD and all you do is click on burn, insert your recordable dvd and it will go through the process of burning your movie.

If you have something that you want to convert to Quicktime, you can use Handbrake to convert to Quicktime, place your Quicktime movie into a burn folder (create your burn folder by clicking burn folder from your finder file menu) and burn it from there.

If you are trying to burn movies that you purchased from iTunes, you can burn to a dvd, but it will only create a data disc, which means you can't play it on a dvd player; you can only use it as a back up in case your originals are lost and you need to reload your movies. To make a data disc in iTunes, you go to file in iTunes, click on "burn playlist to disc" and insert your blank dvd.

If you need additonal help, click on help for whatever program you are in. You should be able to get the information you need.

I have included the link to the HandBrake site.

First you need to find out if you have a SuperDrive or not. Apple menu > About This Mac > More Info > Hardware > Disk Burning. It should say Reads DVD: Yes and DVD-Write: -R -RW +R +RW +R DL. Then you can burn DVDs from the Finder, iTunes, iDVD, Disk Utility etc.(?)

You can find instructions in Finder, iDVD, iTunes and Disk Utilities Help menu on burning CDs & DVDs.

You have to get burnable DVDs. You should be able to just insert the blank DVD, then drag and drop what you want to burn on to it to the DVD icon. I've never done it, but I've burnt CDs on a Mac and couldn't see it being much different.
