I'd have to say jeans because the weather isn't always decent in New York City.

Jeans - if wearing a skirt, you could get it easily wrong and look a bit cheap. The right jean is so much more stylish and leaves a bit to the imagination.

Dress for the occasion.
Wear jeans somewhere you might need pockets.
Wear a skirt where it's appropriate.

Depends on the situation. If it is casual, jeans. If it requires you to dress more formally, skirt.

well, its cold where i live, so i would wear jeans, but i love skirts, so usually i wear them with leggings and a cute cami with a sweater. so, um i choose skirts! <3

girls look better in short skirts
- to show the leg
wear tights with your skirts if you don't like your legs
- the boys/men will like your legs in tights

Jeans if: The weather is questionable, it may be casual, you don't want to risk being underdressed, they are a cute pair :p
Skirt if: You know it's good weather, it looks good with your outfit, the hem is not too high, and it is appropriate to wear to wherever you are headed :)
